Can I host the videos behind our Firewall?

Depending on the nature of your business accessing content across the Internet this may be a big “NO! NO!”

This is especially important if it’s essential that the data on your servers, or access to your servers, need to be kept secure. For example, you could be a Bank, Government Department and so on, who, by the very nature of what they do, specifically do not want to risk any external connection to a public area such as the Internet.

And for these organisations risking access to the internet means that others could potentially have access to their systems.

It’s for this reason that you may want to be in total control and to have any video content you purchase sit safely and securely behind your Firewall. In this regard the question you will need to ask your supplier is… “Are you happy to let me have copies of your content files?”

For some, this is not a problem at all but for others it is, because by letting you have access to the MP4 files means they lose total control of how many people can access their content.

For example, you may only wish to serve the video content to 100 people whilst your organisation may employ 2,000 people and so by having the MP4 files you can automatically serve them to all 2,000 people. This can often be resolved through a relevant pricing strategy or even an enterprise licence.

Nevertheless, this is an important question for many and it’s a question that also shows the trust that your Suppliers have in you.

How can Mi Crow help?

We offer a couple of different ways to consume our content.  You can access our courses via our hosted Portal (which we call the Nest).  This way we bear the brunt of all the hosting and all you have to do is point your learners to our platform.  Easy peasy!

Alternatively, you can put our content on to your LMS.  We allow you to upload our files to your LMS.  The simplest way to do this is through an embed code (essentially a URL) which will also reduce the amount of files you need to physically store on your server.  Doubly easy peasy!
